One of New York’s rising basketball stars, Lamont Edwards, announced Thursday that he will join KB Pogradeci in Albania for the 2024-25 season. The Harlem and 845 native will compete in the Albanian Basketball Federation, continuing his professional journey overseas.

Edwards comes off an impressive season with Metapan Basket in El Salvador, where he earned All-Catalyst First Team honors in just his second professional season. However, his path wasn’t always smooth. He has overcome torn ligaments in his left hand, painful shin splints, and coaches who limited his opportunities.

KB Pogradeci is acquiring a high-caliber player.

Through years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication, Edwards has demonstrated remarkable resilience in chasing his dreams. His talent and determination were on full display during a Pro Showcase performance in front of KB Pogradeci representatives at the NY/NJ Pro Showcase.

This interview marks Edwards’ first in-depth discussion about his career and life journey, offering a glimpse into the mindset of a young star ready to make an impact in Europe.

Edwards’ story is about resiliency, relentlessness, and never giving up. He continues to push forward despite adversity throughout his journey.

Beyond basketball, Edwards gives back to his community. He partners with Samaritan’s Feet International, donating shoes to kids in the Bronx. He also shares uplifting messages, encouraging children to follow their dreams.

Pogradeci gains more than a star starting guard. Edwards brings leadership, professionalism, and a gold standard for what a complete player represents.
